McQuaid Crew members, under the direction of Head Coach Jon Covney and Assistant Coaches Owen Baird and Nick Hahn, opened their 2021 Fall competitive season by rowing in the 35th Annual Lift Bridge Regatta in Fairport, NY. The 3862 meter course on the Erie Canal started just east of the 490 bridge and finished at Perinton Park and took place under beautiful fall conditions. McQuaid rowers competed in the Boy's Varsity 4+ race [Brendan Keller (C), Nic Bailey (4), Richard Essen (3), Joseph Wikiera (2), Joshua Grams (1)]; Boy's 1x (Boat A: Nic Bailey; Boat B: Robby Herrema); and Boy's 2x [Boat A: Richard Essen (2) & Joshua Grams (1); Boat B: Joseph Wikiera (2) & Carlo McNally (1)]. Finishers included Essen/Grams (First Place); Bailey (Third Place); Herrema (Fourth Place); Varsity 4 (Sixth Place), and Wikiera/McNally (Seventh Place). Next regatta is McQuaid's home regatta, the Head of the Genesee on Saturday, October 9th.
